RELEASE: The singing, enchanting, and telling of stories from times long ago… stories of places, people, and cultures. Telling stories is weaving lives in a sweet and intense way with the threads of the poetry of the soul. It is in this enchanted loom that we have woven literary narratives from the literary work Adjokè and the Words that Crossed the Sea. We understand why when we hear the agogô, the berimbau, the cuíca, and the beat of the zabumba, we have our African ancestry surfaced, we also realize that there are African words within the Brazilian vocabulary that name percussion instruments that touch our soul. Just as the drum accesses our ancestral sensitivity, literature allows us to access our black essence. When we eat couscous, acarajé, canjica, farofa, quindim, fubá, munguzá, caruru, pamonha, popcorn, rapadura, vatapá, delicacies, flavors of the cuisine that fill the Ceara pot, snacks that received African names and most of the time we don’t realize. Even when we avoid bafafa, fuxico and ask for dengo, we are Africanized and don’t realize it.

EVENTO: 04 – 12/11/2022 – 14h – CONTAÇÃO DE HISTÓRIAS – Adjokè: cantos e encantos – Adjokè e as Palavras que Atravessaram o Mar
RELEASE: O canto, encanta e conta histórias de tempos imemoráveis…histórias de lugares, povos, pessoas. Narrar histórias é tecer vidas de forma doce e intensa com fios da poética da alma. É nesse tear encantado que temos tecido narrativas literárias a partir da obra literária Adjokè e as Palavras que Atravessaram o Mar compreendemos porque quando ouvimos o agogô, o berimbau, a cuíca, o toque da zabumba temos nossa ancestralidade africana aflorada, percebemos também são palavras africanas dentro do vocabulário brasileiro que denominam instrumentos de percussão que tocam nossa alma. Assim como o tambor acessa nossa sensibilidade ancestral a literatura nos possibilita acessar a nossa essência negra. Quando comemos cuscuz, acarajé, canjica, farofa, quindim, fubá, munguzá, caruru, pamonha, pipoca, rapadura, vatapá, delícias, sabores da gastronomia que enchem a panela cearense, quitutes que receberam nomes africanos e na maioria das vezes não percebemos. Mesmo quando evitamos bafafa, fuxico e pedimos dengo, estamos africanizados e não percebemos.
